Localized reading guide
plan-modePurpose, usage and source
Holistic, system-aware planning before implementing non-trivial tasks. Use when the task involves new features, architectural decisions, multi-file changes, unclear requirements, or multiple valid approaches. Triggers on "/plan", "plan this", "design an approach", "let's plan first".

Workflow excerpts are reading aids, not executable instructions from Codez. No third-party Skill was run to produce this page.
The purpose and workflow passages below are upstream material, organized and translated for reading. They are distinct from the separately labeled Codez editorial analysis.
What this Skill does
Holistic, system-aware planning before implementing non-trivial tasks. Use when the task involves new features, architectural decisions, multi-file changes, unclear requirements, or multiple valid approaches. Triggers on "/plan", "plan this", "design an approach", "let's plan first".
How the upstream workflow works
Overview
For non-trivial implementation tasks, plan before you code. Treat every change as a system change, not an isolated patch. Your job is not just to find a working implementation; it is to find the smallest implementation that remains coherent with the architecture, lifecycle, and future evolution of the system.
Upstream passage · L6 ↗Step 1: Explore
Thoroughly explore the codebase to understand the request before designing anything. Read the relevant files and understand existing patterns, architecture, and conventions. Trace the end-to-end flow, not just the local implementation point. Identify the current source of truth, state ownership, boundaries between subsystems, and any existing invariants.
Upstream passage · L21 ↗Step 2: Clarify
Ask the user questions to resolve ambiguities before committing to an approach. This may cover technical implementation, desired system behavior, UI/UX, performance, edge cases, ownership of state, failure handling, or tradeoffs. You may ask multiple rounds, reading more code in between. Do not make large assumptions about user intent.
Upstream passage · L33 ↗Summary: 1-2 sentences on the task and chosen approach
Context: Key findings from exploration -- existing patterns, relevant files, constraints
System Impact: How the change affects source of truth, data flow, lifecycle, and dependent parts of the system
Approach: High-level design decision and why
Changes:
- `path/to/file.ts` - what changes and why
- `path/to/other.ts` - what changes and why
Verification:
- How to test end-to-end
- Relevant test commands
- Edge cases to checkRequirements and setup
No short requirements passage was selected from this file. This does not mean the Skill has no dependencies. Check the repository setup instructions and referenced files.
Limits and quality checks
No separate limits passage was selected from this file. This does not mean the Skill is safe for every input or environment. Review the complete source and validate your own result.
Start with a safe trial
- Check the supported host and the repository installation instructions. Keep the Skill directory and its referenced scripts, assets and documentation together; SKILL.md alone may omit dependencies.
- Give the agent your real input, desired output and acceptance criteria. Invocation syntax and available tools depend on the host; this site does not assume a universal install command.
- Try the source workflow in a disposable project or on a copy. Review operations that change files, remote services or billable resources before allowing them.
- Validate the output against the source quality checks and your own requirements. A successful trigger or a high repository Star count does not establish a correct result.
