Workflow excerpts are reading aids, not executable instructions from Codez. No third-party Skill was run to produce this page.
The purpose and workflow passages below are upstream material, organized and translated for reading. They are distinct from the separately labeled Codez editorial analysis.
What this Skill does
Create a new blank Figma file. Use when the user wants to create a new Figma design or FigJam file, or when you need a new file before calling use_figma. Handles plan resolution via whoami if needed. Usage — /figma-create-new-file [editorType] [fileName] (e.g. /figma-create-new-file figjam My Whiteboard)
How the upstream workflow works
Step 1: Resolve the planKey
The create_new_file tool requires a planKey parameter. Follow this decision tree: User already provided a planKey (e.g. from a previous whoami call or in their prompt) → use it directly, skip to Step 2. No planKey available → call the whoami tool. The response contains a plans array. Each plan has a key, name, seat, and tier. Single plan: use its key field automatically.
Step 3: Use the result
The tool returns: file_key — the key of the newly created file file_url — a direct URL to open the file in Figma Use the file_key for subsequent tool calls like use_figma.

Limits and quality checks
Important Notes
The file is created in the user's drafts folder for the selected plan. Only "design" and "figjam" editor types are supported.
Start with a safe trial
- Check the supported host and the repository installation instructions. Keep the Skill directory and its referenced scripts, assets and documentation together; SKILL.md alone may omit dependencies.
- Give the agent your real input, desired output and acceptance criteria. Invocation syntax and available tools depend on the host; this site does not assume a universal install command.
- Try the source workflow in a disposable project or on a copy. Review operations that change files, remote services or billable resources before allowing them.
- Validate the output against the source quality checks and your own requirements. A successful trigger or a high repository Star count does not establish a correct result.
