Workflow excerpts are reading aids, not executable instructions from Codez. No third-party Skill was run to produce this page.
The purpose and workflow passages below are upstream material, organized and translated for reading. They are distinct from the separately labeled Codez editorial analysis.
What this Skill does
Install or update the M365 Agents Toolkit (ATK) CLI and VS Code extension. Triggers: "install atk", "update atk", "install agents toolkit", "update agents toolkit", "install the toolkit", "setup atk", "get atk", "install atk cli", "install atk extension", "install atk vsix", "update the vs code extension", "install latest atk", "upgrade atk"
How the upstream workflow works
Step 1: Verify ATK CLI works
If this succeeds (prints a version): ATK CLI is available. The npx prefix automatically downloads the latest package on first use and caches it for subsequent runs. If this fails: Check that Node.js 18+ and npm are installed. The npx command requires a working Node.js environment.
Execution
Verify ATK CLI works by running npx -y --package @microsoft/m365agentstoolkit-cli atk --version Report the result (version number / failure) Install VS Code extension if requested Explain that all ATK commands use the npx -y --package @microsoft/m365agentstoolkit-cli atk prefix — no global install needed
Install ATK
Install or update the M365 Agents Toolkit (ATK) CLI and/or VS Code extension.

Upstream passage · L67 ↗Start with a safe trial
- Check the supported host and the repository installation instructions. Keep the Skill directory and its referenced scripts, assets and documentation together; SKILL.md alone may omit dependencies.
- Give the agent your real input, desired output and acceptance criteria. Invocation syntax and available tools depend on the host; this site does not assume a universal install command.
- Try the source workflow in a disposable project or on a copy. Review operations that change files, remote services or billable resources before allowing them.
- Validate the output against the source quality checks and your own requirements. A successful trigger or a high repository Star count does not establish a correct result.
