The purpose and workflow passages below are upstream material, organized and translated for reading. They are distinct from the separately labeled Codez editorial analysis.

What this Skill does

Build, migrate, and deploy Next.js apps on Cloudflare Workers with vinext. Use when starting a Next.js project on Cloudflare, moving an existing app to Workers, choosing between vinext and OpenNext, or setting up vinext for Workers. For setup, migration, or deployment, install vinext's upstream skills with npx skills add cloudflare/vinext if missing, then read and follow the applicable skill and docs.

How the upstream workflow works

Use the upstream workflow

Before setup, migration, or deployment, check whether the skills maintained in vinext are available. If missing, install them: Then read and follow the applicable upstream SKILL.md and its relevant references. Use the current vinext docs for workflows the skills do not cover: New project: follow vinext's new-project setup using create-vinext-app with the Cloudflare target. The upstream migration skill requires an existing Next.js project; do not apply it to an empty directory. Existing Next.js project: load and follow the upstream migrate-to-vinext skill, including its compatibility check and relevant references. Select Cloudflare as the deployment target.

Next.js on Cloudflare

Use vinext rather than OpenNext for new Next.js projects on Cloudflare Workers. This is the default in the Cloudflare Next.js guide. Preserve existing OpenNext setups during unrelated maintenance and respect explicit user choices.

Requirements and setup

No short requirements passage was selected from this file. This does not mean the Skill has no dependencies. Check the repository setup instructions and referenced files.

Limits and quality checks

No separate limits passage was selected from this file. This does not mean the Skill is safe for every input or environment. Review the complete source and validate your own result.

Start with a safe trial

  1. Check the supported host and the repository installation instructions. Keep the Skill directory and its referenced scripts, assets and documentation together; SKILL.md alone may omit dependencies.
  2. Give the agent your real input, desired output and acceptance criteria. Invocation syntax and available tools depend on the host; this site does not assume a universal install command.
  3. Try the source workflow in a disposable project or on a copy. Review operations that change files, remote services or billable resources before allowing them.
  4. Validate the output against the source quality checks and your own requirements. A successful trigger or a high repository Star count does not establish a correct result.
